Janie’s Bio

While attenJanie mortensen at the officeding college, Janie started her own accounting firm in Portland, OR. Basically, she has been in the business of accounting for over 40 years. M J Mortensen Associates Ltd., one of the first woman owned accounting firms in the area, started in December 1973.

Janie also taught Accounting Theory at LutherRiceCollege in Alexandria, VA.

Janie was listed in the Washington Post Magazine as one of the area’s top Entrepreneurs. She has competed in the Senior Olympics and competes in local track and field meets.  The DC Examiner did an article on Janie and her running.   Janie is active in auto racing and sponsors a local team.

Won SilveJanie practicing the shotputr Medals in the 2004 Virginia Senior Games Silver medaled in the 50m, 100m, and 200m dashes.

Featured in the DC Examiner on June 6, 2005, “She’s 64 and Headed to the Senior Olympics.”
